Shayla Shepard

Who is Shayla Shepherd?

Shayla Shepherd is a high school science educator with six years of experience teaching Chemistry and
Integrated Chemistry/Physics to students in grades 9–12. As a teacher, she focused on developing curriculum
that leveraged technology to make complex scientific concepts more accessible and engaging for every
student. Alongside her classroom work, she also served as an eLeader (technology integration specialist) and
a mentor teacher, supporting colleagues as they explored new tools and strategies.

While she loves working with students, Shayla has discovered her greatest passion is helping fellow educators.
She enjoys exploring and testing new EdTech tools that make learning more engaging, while also saving
teachers valuable time. For her, it’s not just about knowing the latest tools, but about understanding how they fit
instructionally and figuring out how to support others in using them effectively.

Shayla thrives on collaboration and enjoys working side by side with educators to create meaningful resources
and lessons. She loves problem solving, especially when it comes to technology, and enjoys helping others
find creative and efficient solutions that make their teaching lives easier.

● Shayla is a huge animal lover! She’s a proud cat mom and also has a 9-year-old pet pig named Harley!
● Outside of work, she loves to travel, hike, and attend concerts. She also enjoys experimenting with new
crafting hobbies.
