Jenny Carlson-Pietraszek

Instructor

Jenny Carlson-Pietraszekis a career educator. Whether working with 6th graders or octogenarians, she sees her job as meeting each person where they are and helping them take their next step. As a classroom teacher, Jenny has always been open to experimentation. “Why not try a new idea, a new approach, a new tool? Even the worst case outcome – it doesn’t work as you hoped – leads to interesting insights.” Her 30+ years of teaching, curriculum development, and school leadership incorporate hands-on learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and critical thinking with a consistent eye toward the environment students will inhabit upon leaving the classroom.

Jenny grew up in PA, attending and thriving in the public school system. She earned an AB in Anthropology from Princeton University, where she also played basketball, led a service organization, and formed friendships that continue to sustain her. Upon graduation, Jenny worked at The Masters School in Dobbs Ferry, NY, first as a teacher, coach, and dorm parent, and then as Dean of the Middle School. She earned an MEd from Columbia University while she was there. Her (late) wife’s shift from education to law led Jenny from NY to MA and the Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, MA. Jenny held a variety of roles at Nobles over her 28-year tenure. She taught in the classroom (History and Social Studies) every year and also served as Head of the Middle School, 9th grade Dean, Core Leader, Teacher Evaluation, Academic Technology Advocate, Global Online Academy instructor, and international trip leader (South Africa, Greece, India).

Jenny retired from Nobles in June 2025 and now works as an independent educational consultant and an instructor with EdTechTeacher. Jenny’s wife, Rev. Rali Weaver, is the minister at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Falmouth (UUFF) in Falmouth, MA, where she and Jenny live. Their two daughters, Zoe and Lucy, are pursuing their own education and career paths, returning home during holidays and vacations to fill hearts and home with love and laughter.
