In <a title=\"Washington Post Article\" href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/local\/education\/teachers-take-to-twitter-to-improve-craft-and-commiserate\/2012\/01\/19\/gIQAGv8UGQ_story.html\" target=\"_blank\">Teachers take to Twitter to improve craft and commiserate<\/a>, Greg comments on the value of Twitter for promoting his own professional development.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I always tell people the the most valuable 15 minutes I spend, in terms of my professional growth, is when I jump on Twitter at night and see what\u2019s going on.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The New York Times interviewed Greg about his involvement in creation #SSchat for <a title=\"New York Times Education Article\" href=\"http:\/\/learning.blogs.nytimes.com\/2011\/09\/30\/teachers-teaching-teachers-on-twitter-q-and-a-on-edchats\/\" target=\"_blank\">Teachers Teaching Teachers, on Twitter: Q. and A. on \u2018Edchats\u2019<\/a>. This\u00a0question-and-answer session also included\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/tomwhitby\" target=\"_blank\">Thomas D. Whitby<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/shellterrell\" target=\"_blank\">Shelly Sanchez Terrell<\/a>\u00a0of #Edchat as well as\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/#!\/mrami2\" target=\"_blank\">Meenoo Rami<\/a>\u00a0who created #Engchat.<\/p>\n<p>When asked how do he thought that new forms of digital communication could impact classrooms and schools, Greg replied:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Teacher collaboration through social media tools is transforming the way teachers find, develop and use content in their classes. Twitter and our chats allow educators to crowdsource for content, ideas, pedagogy and research.<\/p>\n<p>Social media also allows teachers to connect their classrooms to create collaborative projects that would have otherwise been impossible.
